I’ve been weaving for much of my life and love to experiment with all sorts of yarns and ways of weaving.
I began my weaving life working on large floor looms and multi-shaft table looms, working in a very structured way creating fine, patterned cloth.
I have recently discovered Saori Weaving, a Japanese (Zen type) creative style of weaving which allows me to indulge my fascination and love of colour and texture…..its like painting with yarn….creating ‘one-off’ designs for wearing and for the home. I work predominately with natural yarns; wool, cotton, linen, silk, mohair and alpaca. I love it!
I recently moved from Wollongong to Dalmeny and have found the energy of this amazing, creative and supportive community, very motivating. Also having an outlet for my creations, at the Artisans Nest, is a huge bonus.
