Andrea Maher

Creating art has always been a way of life for Andrea Maher. She comes from a wonderfully creative family so drawing and painting and making were always part of everyday life.

On rainy days the plasticine modelling clay would come out and resulting horses, foxes, people etc, would have to be set on the mantelpiece or bookshelf until they eventually melted in the heat of summer.

More seriousan Interior Architecture/design career, drawing, painting, paint finishes on decorative items and walls, paper cutting, and lead lighting. Now Andrea is finally able to focus on creating art just for the joy of painting.

Andrea’s favoured medium is water based such as watercolour, gouache, ink and acrylic. Other passions include soft pastels for creation of bolder large pieces. Subjects and styles are varied from wildlife, to landscapes to abstract pieces.

Currently Andrea’s watercolour work can be seen at the Artisans Nest Gallery Next to the Dairy in Bodalla.
