Anne Colquitt studied at Caulfield Institute of Technology in Graphic Art but had a wild & free spirit coming from a country town, so lost sight of her artistic pull till much later in life when she stumbled upon hatmaking.
Trained through several different TAFE colleges on the north coast and seeking out muses to learn from, some of whom are the best in the country, she continued to pursue formal race hat design working in felt blocking to the north coast winter race carnivals.
These days Anne concentrates on having her unique sustainable gardening & beach hats in boutiques and galleries on the south coast of New South Wales. She was awarded the very first Eurobodalla Business Award for sustainability & innovation. Anne is driven by her ardent anti waste philosophy & her passion for fine fabric. Her strength as a Milliner is the interpretation of symmetry and proportion of the wearer.
