My current passion which seems endless is felting, particularly nuno felting as the combination of silk and wool is endlessly fascinating and a great vehicle for creativity.and the Gallery is currently stocking many of my pieces.
I also make one-off wearables and occasionally homewares from these pieces. There are many scarves, kaftans and other clothing at the Nest that are products of my experiments. I have become a bit of a keen upcycler, cutting up existing good quality pieces and adding them together usually with an addition or two of my own dyed or printed fabrics. I also make wall art, hangings, stitched works and works containing eye-catching driftwood.
Some of my work is on my website, including my printing, art pieces and 3d works.
You can see more of my work at mandiratextiles.com
One of my” (current passions……) is shibori, an intricate, predominantly Japanese method of creating designs on cloth. I use this with indigo mostly, as can be seen in the above picture!
