ARTISANS NEST RIVER OF ART EVENT – 3 DAYS ONLY

If clothes could talk what stories would they tell?

Stories of life, love, and everything in between the threads.

The garments, displayed on an Iconic Australian Hills Hoist and their heartfelt stories will be on display for 3 days only as part of the 2016 River of Art Festival.

Artisans Nest member Jennyrose Brosch is curating the exhibition which is sourced from the members personal collections, and hopes people will enjoy the ‘airing of the garments ‘ most of which are telling their story for the very first time!

The Exhibition will be open from Friday 27th May till Sun 29th 10.30am -3.30pm at Artisans Nest Gallery in Bodalla.

The Gallery is run by a Not for Profit Community Group and entry is by gold coin donation.

‘Feathering the Nest’

This year’s River of Art is the occasion for Artisan’s Nest, the 2 year old textile inspired shop and Gallery in Bodalla, to hold a community art event entitled ‘Feathering the Nest’.
Artisans Nest is an enterprise run by its members, one of whom, Marian Webb, is an accomplished basket weaver who has constructed 2 stunning nests (approx 1m diameter) which are waiting for beautification by you. Once finished, you could own one, as a delightful piece of sculpture for your garden, verandah or house.Image

For 2 weeks we will have a constructed Nest at the Gallery and at the Family Fun Day at the Moruya Markets on 17th May for the public to ‘feather’, that is add to with beautiful things in whatever way takes your fancy. From 8 May to 17 May you can buy tickets in the raffle to win the nest, drawn 17/5/14. From 17/5 to 25/5 pay to play decorating the second nest to adorn our gallery/shop at 56 Princes Highway Bodalla

All proceeds are going to the Bodalla Rural Fire Brigade who are going to transport the Nest to the Moruya Markets on May 17th and transport it back to Bodalla for their Annual fundraising Dinner Dance with Spicy Fruit Chutney providing the LIVE MUSIC where the raffle for the first nest will be drawn

Come along to the Artisans Nest in Bodalla open 7 days from 10 am, or to the Family Fun Day Market in Moruya to enter the raffle and participate in this our first community art event. All our members are helping to supply beautiful additions for you to add to the nest and will be on hand to assist. It is now and will be a great work of art! Be a part of it!

May, 2012 Wearable Arts Parade Dress Rehearsal

The Eurobodalla Fibre and Textile Artists Group are holding their annual wearable arts parade, this year at the Moruya Bowling Club, on Thursday night. Tickets are now sold out for the event but here are some tantalising photos from the dress rehearsal.
